I think the lesson the WRP needs to take away from this is that Albertans are fiscally conservative, but there's absolutely no appetite for social conservatism any more. Expect them to spend more time vetting candidates to weed out the Hunsbergers and Leeches of the world next time.

I think this election pretty much proves that Alberta is in fact not fiscally conservative at all.
The Liberals had a better fiscal platform than the PCs did.
Alberta loves to spend money. Too many years of budget surpluses and being able to spend whatever they wanted to has created that.
Like others have said, Alberta is all words and no actions.
