Does anyone know how you go about getting on the ballot for this Senator position? There was a cast of thousands on the ballot, and a bunch of them were called "Independent", so they didn't even need the backing of anyone to get in there.
Running for Senator would look pretty good on a resume, especially if you don't have to do much, and don't have a chance of moving to Ottawa. Maybe next time...

To run you need to collect 1500 signatures to have your name on the ballot. There is also a property requirement on the ballot in that you need to have real property that is worth at least $4000 more than you owe on it. You also have to be over 30 and live in the province you plan to represent.
