If this is the list then the argument is not necessary, because a lot of teams who have won the cup didn't have superstars. I would say Chara and Thomas played like superstars in last years playoffs. Keith, Toews and maybe even Kane played like superstars two years ago. Ward and Staal for the 'Canes cup. Richards, Lecavalier, Boyle, St.Louis. Niedermayer and Pronger. Crosby and Malkin. Pretty much every year the winning team had guys play like superstars, whether or not they continued to play like superstars after the fact is another argument.
