I've always wondered, since Jose is never shy about letting the umpires know what he thinks of a borderline call, do the umps get back at him by favouring the pitcher later on during the at-bat or in subsequent plate appearances?
I don't have any empirical evidence but it seems as if, whenever Jose complains, he never gets the benefit of the doubt for the rest of the game.

Still, I don't fault the guy for doing it, just like I don't fault Lawrie for plays like the attempted steal of home against Baltimore. This is the way these guys play. You can tell they hate losing more than they love winning, and I always prefer the former over the latter. Wish the Flames had some guys that hated losing, other than Glencross and Giordano and Cammalleri.
