Complicating the tax code? really? You make it seem like we're talking about something that has never been done before. Every party is proposing the same thing in different capacities.
The tax code can't get much more convoluted then it already is.
Offering a tax break is actually one of the smartest ways to reward people. You don't just arbitrarily throw pay raises at people. This rewards people that are actually making an impact where its needed as opposed to rewarding people that simply don't give a crap.
