I thought that Rogers had horrible reception around town.

Telus and Bell, I believe have comporable coverage in and around Calgary.

Get the plan that works best for you, and how much you think you'll use it - if you think you'll use more minutes than the lowest plan, go one up because you don't want to pay the overage charge ($.25/min or so) and end up paying more than the next plan up. Also works the otherway.

As for phone models, I think in this day and age, they're all comporable - you have the phonebook, you can talk into it, and you can hear what people are saying. The extra $$$ comes from style, colour, cameras, etc. Personally, I think a phone is for communication with people, and all phones let you do that. If you need to take pictures, buy a real camera - otherwise you're wasting your money
