Ferrari is horrible at the moment, and it's no secret that Alonso's win in Malaysia was only due to the weather conditions and a good strategy. Under normal circumstances, they are nowhere near McLaren, Mercedes, Red Bull and Lotus. It seems to me that Ferrari has had problems early in the year for a few seasons now. It's frustrating because they then need half of the season to kind of catch up with the other teams, and basically their championship chances are gone by then.
Ferrari also has one of the weirdest driver pairings of the whole F1 - they have both one of the best and one of the worst drivers. Alonso has been without a doubt among the three best drivers for years now, maybe he is even
the best one. He makes the car look better than it is and rarely makes mistakes (like today).
On the other hand, Massa continues to get worse every year. He was good a few years back, but he began to struggle when the FIA forbade (is that the correct past form of forbid? it sounds weird

) traction control and other technical aids. He also seems to really struggle with the Pirelli tyres. And obviously, that head injury back then in Budapest had an influence on his performance too. Ferrari has really hold on to him for a really long time, you can't blame them. They gave him a lot of chances when other teams would have probably fired him. But enough is enough ... Alonso dominates him with ease.
I'm willing to bet that we'll see a driver change even during the season. Massa has to seriously step up in Bahrain to keep his job. Adrian Sutil would be a good option to replace for the rest of the season. Perez can take over next season.
