I like JPA as much as anyone but you have to eventually start weighing good guy/talent. As much as JP is great to have in the room, he's not holding this team together by any means. This team has a strong core and strong leaders, and it's going to continue to develop. And I bought an Arencibia Jersey this fall even knowing there's a good chance he's not going to be with this team long term, but I like his attitude that much and the way he plays the game.
And it's a disservice to just paint D'Arnaud as the up and coming hotshot. The kid has a great attitude, works hard, and is the Jays best prospect. It would be a mistake to not play Travis D'Arnaud because JP is a nice guy. Competition is great though, I have no problem with him as our catcher now, hopefully his AB's can improve this season and the catching position can just be one of the many positions the Jays are going to have some really tough decisions to make the next few seasons during the spring.
