I think you have the home opener mixed up with the season opener. Now it makes sense.

Santos got no save in the first game of the season because he recorded the final 2 outs with them holding a 3 run lead. Tying run was not in the on deck circle when he entered the game.

He blew the save in the second game because he came in with the team leading and surrendered the tying run.

He blew the save in the home opener because he had a lead when he entered the game (2-1) and ended up with the loss

The game on Tuesday ended up being 7-3 , but there was no save because It was a 7-1 game when Casey Jansen came in, and he gave up 2 runs, but got all the outs.

Today Santos gets the save because he recorded the final out of the game with a 2 run lead. With a base runner and the on deck hitter tying run was potentially at the plate.

Nice to see him bounce back today. Whether you agree with closers or not, any RP is served to have a short memory and forget a bad outing. Often closers struggle because they let the mental things get to them.
