He's given up one home run in the 9th. It was on a good pitch that Cabrerra made a great play to hit out of the park.
Yes the 9th inning is in fact just like any other inning. No teams do not push any harder then they did in the 8th. A team does not try any harder at bat in the 8th, then they do in the 9th. Decades and decades of baseball games and statistics show us that this is simply not the case. You're theory of "teams try harder when they are losing" and this one simply have nothing to back them up, besides an observation Joe Morgan would make.
