As for being condescending, I think theres a big world out there you aren't familiar with. You better explain to all the advertisers all over the world that the media doesn't influence people and they have been wasting their money for decades on advertisements. Part of my job is understanding how people are influenced and people are swaying by much, much more subtle things than pop media.
