Both are EXTREMELY slippery when wet. But the easiest way to avoid that is to add some of the grip silica sand to your sealer when your doing to seal your patio.
I did a stamped and colored patio about 4 years ago that was 18'x22' and has 2 steps coming off of the door. A few tips if I can offer from my experience.
I never had a steep enough grade to my patio, I only when about 4% when I should have went about 8% to ensure proper drainage even with a VERY experienced concrete crew there was still 1 or 2 low spots on my patio.
Anchor the patio to your house I drilled into my foundation 2"-3" with a Hilti drill and hammered 36" lengths of rebar into it then I tied all my rebar off of those anchors and I put them every 30" rebar is cheap and it will hold your patio up from sinking. Dont use fiberglass mesh (fibermesh) you will see it in your patio and it looks horrible.
I also used powder to color my concrete which it thrown on top as the concrete cures and then stamped into the concrete, I should have used a color mix that was added directly into the concrete I have a few chips that now show just plain colored concrete. They can be fixed but using a tinted sealer the next time I seal my patio but its a pain in the ass until then.
Try not to get the crew to use deep cuts in the concrete (deep cuts are those lines in the side walk that give the concrete a designated and controlled place to crack when it settles) instead get them to do a couple of saw cuts, it looks much cleaned and you need fewer of them my deck has only has 2 and its huge.
When you seal your patio use ONLY ultra high gloss sealer (get it from Northland) its about $10-$15 more and the difference is night and day compared to the high gloss and as I said be sure to add some of the grip sand to the sealer so you don't biff with a plate full of steaks like the guy typing this did.
Concrete patios are not cheap mine would have cost me $8500 or so if I didnt work for a concrete company but they look much better than wood, hold up just as long if properly maintained and add more value to your house.
