I graduated in 2006, and the majority of the questions were multiple choice, with a few written responses on each test.
Physics had written responses, math had a numerical response/written(figure out a problem and explain how you solved it). LA had multiple choice, plus essay, SS had multiple choice plus essay, and world religions had multiple choice plus essay.
Those were my five 30 level courses. I think its more or less the same for all of them. At the time at least.
