No need? Iginla is still a premiere player and one of the best scoring talents of the past few generations. The Blues are offensively challenged and young, with very little actual playoff experience. They are on the opposite end of the cycle as the Flames, as they are just on the cusp of entering their prime where the Flames are rapidly fading from theirs. With his skill, experience, reputation, and leadership, Iginla is likely a player that the Blues would covet. They probably are entering a five-year window right now: a perfect time to add some high-end experience.
