movie execs in the top production companies do not care about audience reception, they care about their income versus investment, that's it. Look at transformers, everyone hates those movies yet they make millions. Being a director or producer for Warner Bros. etc. etc. must be terrible unless you are James Cameron or Christopher Nolan.
