No tricks, should be entirely plug & play.
Make sure your audio on the console is set to Dolby Digital 5.1, and that your receiver doesn't need to be switched into a specific mode to handle DD5.1. My dad's old Kenwood receiver wouldn't play DD5.1 over optical from his Xbox 360 until I manually turned on Dolby decoding for that particular input. I'm not familiar with Onkyo receivers, so YMMV.
