I saw a special on him a couple years ago.

He talked about how he thought he was going to die, and was even able to ask the medic if he was gonna die. Nobody on the ice knew what to do. They all thought they were watching him die.
He Had nightmares about it for years after. Ended up extremely depressed and even tried to kill himself overdosing on pills IIRC. Was never able to really get back into the net effectively.
-On a positive note, he eventually got past all that in was doing better. He was (maybe still is) working as the goalie coach for an NHL team. (Buffalo IIRC)
