Part of me would have been upset by it, but the other part would have thought it was genius and definitely something that Moore would do. Ultimately I would come to love it as the perfect ending to such a dark series.

I think it was the DVD commentary that I heard this but they actually wrote it to be a potential ending due to the writers strike at the time. Just incase the strike forced the show to end pre-emptively at least there was something to end it on! At the time it definitely felt like an "ending," albeit a hasty one (understandably so). Personally, it would have sufficed for me and certainly would have given the show a darker tone.
Hoping B&C gets done in some form or another! I actually bought the pilot episode of Caprica way after it was cancelled and thought it was decent enough. Haven't seen anything else though and have been missing not seeing anything Battelstar related on TV.
