the best thing to do in those days was to record a really bad news show on a tape and transfer the label from the rental video tape to the news show one, and the bar code thing that went on the side of the tape. Then slide the phony tape into the blockbuster case and return it through the after hours slide slide.
I always wondered if they every actually caught that or if someone took home Die Hard or whatever made his popcorn, sat down hit play and heard the opening theme music to the Lethbridge news hour.
