So we should build this ski resort (along with all of its negative environmental impacts) so Albertans can have a ton of fun... and then go back home to the prairies?
I've lived in the Kootenays for over half my life, specifically Cranbrook. I've seen the elders of the Ktunaxa Nation in tears because this resort was so close to moving forward.
Go ahead, call me a "greeny," but going forth with Jumbo is just stupid because its environmental impacts heavily outweigh the economic benefits from (primarily) Albertans who don't have to worry about the economic costs/benefits nor environmental impacts of such a development because at the end of the day, they can just go home.
Be happy with Banff and Panorama. Want a change? Travel a bit longer to Kimberley. Why do we need ANOTHER ski resort in the Kootenays?

Have you been back there yourself? Do you have any real idea about what the environmental impacts will be beyond industry that is already working down the valley? Or is it just an excuse to denigrate Albertans to make yourself feel more righteous?
