I agree with Rhettzky. I was just there two weeks ago and I was a little underwhelmed. They have more big cats than Calgary, which was cool, they have pandas and polar bears, also cool, but other than that it seemed to be a lot of animals that Calgary already has or animals that don't really make or break the trip (ie 1000 different species of colorful birds). I didn't get to see the Koalas because the Outback part is under construction.
It is definitely worth seeing but didn't really have me saying "wow". Oh, except for the Gorilla orgy. That was ####ing hilarious and amazing.
