None taken. Of all the IT people on this forum, I probably respect your knowledge the most from what I've seen from your postings and you obviously do appreciate your iPad very much. I'm the last person who could accuse anybody who enjoys iOS of being green but it definitely is a system that provides good support for masses which means I can tell people to go elsewhere for help when I don't have the time to deal with it.

I'm not a fan of any UI and I could spend hours telling people why Android, Windows (Windows 8 is terrible), and even most flavors of Linux (Ubuntu with Unity is one of the worst things ever created) have horrible UIs.

And yes, a lot of applications with vector graphics will work great with the Retina display. My issue with going higher res is that it makes most older photo and video content or lossy compression formats look poor and that's something that frustrates me on any platform from my desktop wallpaper to trying to watch DVDs on a 1080p TV. I still keep a CRT TV around for certain things.

As for the Android device I'll be inheriting. It might have Cyanogen mod on it and the UI might be livable for me...but it's slow and the thing freezes and crashes every 30 minutes. I know the iPad 3 would never do that and it is fast as hell.
