Incidentally, I just had my very first poutine yesterday. We were at Chinook Mall to do some running around and stopped at New York Fries for lunch.
It squeeks.
The texture took me a moment to get use to. The gravy was really heavy and rich, but the fries were deliciously soft yet crunchy.
As I have no other poutine to compare it to, I have to say it was "OK."Ringing in at ~$6.50 for a medium fries that two of us shared, it seemed rather expensive.
