Really, you're trying to tell me that Berlusconi was a socialist? Extreme might be taking it too far depending on your definition of extreme, but both Greece and Italy were certainly on the right side of the political spectrum, especially economically when their economies began to crumble.
EDIT: For that matter, Ireland too. How is this even debatable?
