I've stayed at 2 hotels in Vegas - Excalibur and the Wynn.
The Excalibur feels dated on the inside. The outside is still very impressive and I had fun walking around it and checking out all the castle decor, but inside looks very generic. I was in one of the new "Widescreen Rooms" which was $80 a night and was nice enough. Reminded me of a Best Western or Holiday Inn style room. For the little time I spent there, it was good. If you're a gamer there are lower stakes games there and they also offer gaming lessons during the week.
I went for a conference with work, and the company put me up at the Wynn. That is a beautiful hotel inside and out. The room I was in was amazing and just walking around there, there is so much to see. It's a little more 'stuffy' there, and more older people but still a lot of fun. The tables are expensive here.

I stayed at the cecil and palliser a few years back... Im guessing the differences were similar.
(I have actually stayed at Excalibur and for the price which you shouldnt be paying more than $50 a night for a widescreen rom, it cant be beat. My first trip was to the stratosphere....now that was a dive and too far from everything.
