It's rather condescending to say that gamers don't know how the development process works. "Support" can include new content simply because it improves the value proposition of the base game. There is no reason why content developed by a seperate team has to incur a seperate fee, no matter where its release date falls. There is also no good reason why Mass Effect's DLC never goes on sale, as Steam has PROVEN that sales increase profit.
