I was going to mention that in my "all politicians are hypocrties" posts earlier. Chretien and most of the Liberals supported a motion to define marriage as being between a man and a woman in 1999
after the SCOC made its landmark ruling. They changed their tune a couple years later to appear progressive in a bid to win political points.
