No I assume I'll have to pick one up from Shaw or something. I'd be getting it shortly after the TV arrives.

- What types of programs are you watching? Prime time stuff, or is it soaps and DejaVu all day?
Hockey mostly. Various reality shows/comedies is about it.

- How far away are you planning on sitting from the TV? You say "larger than 32 inch", but a 42 inch is almost double the size of a 32 inch.
Not too far away... probably 10 feet max. I was thinking 36" or 42"... because they're big.

- Is size more important than picture? For example a 57" CRT projection can be bought for about the same money as a nice 32" LCD.
Size isn't really that important... but I don't really want an amazing quality 27" TV... I want something with some size to it. For the right price/quality, I could probably be convinced to do 32".

Oh, and forget plasma for $2000. At that price all you are going to see is EDTV. And be careful of the EDTV's; I have seen some advertised as having 720p and 1080i inputs, but it still means the TV downconverts to 480p.
Do they say "EDTV" in the descriptions?

Edit- if I had to make a choice for you this second, I would go with a 52" Toshiba DLP; wait for it to go on sale for ~$2000.
Probably too big... and I don't want to wait, this money is burning a hole in my pocket! Plus $2000 is my very upper limit.. it'd have to be a crazy deal on an awsome tv for me to do it.. and even then, throw in cables/receiver, and we're pushing way over $2000...
