I have 2 English bulldogs and got pet insurance immediately. With pickles (my first bulldog) it saved us 2500 when she broke her leg as a puppy jumping off the arm of the couch to get cat food on a shelf.

It didn't cover the entire surgery, but it covered about 65% if the cost. They sent us a cheque after we submitted the bill, no questions asked.
