Really he'd still be worth a pick if his contract was still somewhat favorable. But in this case you are parting with an asset to acquire a risky contract. Let him be released...give him a 2 million bonus now, and another 5 if he's on the roster September 1st. That removes a lot of the risk for the Browns. If he gets that roster bonus on Saturday whoever is holding that contract has committed to that pot.
