It is also a situation where you have a kid who's probably never played in a league with touch icing trying to finish the play.
When I look at that play, I see two things: A 19-year-old kid willing to go into the corners, and a league that needs to go to no-touch icing.

In his post game interview he mentioned that he had never played with touch icing and he was a little lost at the time and didn't quite understand at first why the whistle was blown. That's what the smirk was for
