Well for starters I'm not willing to go through every insurance companies current wordings to figure it out because I really don't care that much and either way this will be a NON-FAULT claim whether it's comprehensive or collison.
Also some adjusters have more power to make a decision depending on the company. I have personally see a hit-and-run claim paid by comprehensive, collision and uninsured/underinsured coverage. I have also personally seen a hit-and-run claim paid by an insurance company for someone who only had comprehensive coverage on their vehicle. So if comprehensive didn't cover it why would an insurance company or all people pay the claim out?
