Which is why I was curious as to which ones you and someone else were referring to that are still paying out a hit and run as a comprehensive claim. Don't worry this isn't being sent in to the superintendents office If you look at the top 5 for market share :
1. Intact = Collision
2. Aviva = Collision
3. Co-operators = Collision
4. Economical = Collision
5. TD = Collision

Chances are the OP is insured with one of the above companies and it will be viewed and settled as a collision as technically this is what happened.
