Well I don't really want to play ME3 until I've played the ME2 DLC. And I don't really want to buy the ME2 DLC until it goes on sale. So why would I buy ME3 now? To get BF3 which I already have (and haven't installed, because I should probably play BFBC2 first)?
It's not so much a boycott like I think it's going to make a difference, it's more like general resentment combined with a logical response to their behaviour. I just got my Dota 2 Beta and I have a huge backlog of other games, so ME3 can wait for a price drop or even better for EA to cave and put it on Steam.
Had the DLC been available on Steam and resonably priced, it probably would've been a pre-order.
