From a common sense point of view, if you think that the occasional wiff of second hand smoke is going to give you lung cancer you'd better stay away from any kind of an open flame or combustion...which is pretty much everywhere.
You must have read some pretty garbage studies if you think that "When someone is smoking they are burnign a piece of a tobacco leaf" is anything but an incredibly misleading statement.
