I have friends who have both a ninja 650R and an R6.
Incedentially they are both chicks....just sayin....

That being said, I've ridden both. If you want a pure speed machine and don't really care about comfort, go for teh R6.
If you want something that you'll be able to go on a trip on, and is still a lot of fun to ride, then the 650R is a great bike.

If I was in your spot I'd probably buy the 650R becasue I like to get out and use the bike all weekend, and the 650R is going to be a lot more versatile, and is still plenty fast.
