I've read that article before, its quite interesting, he gets very philosophical. The thing is, it pretty much has nothing to do with music..as you said, its more of an attitude..but its an attitude that potentially any person from any walk of life could adhere to. So where does punk music fit in?? Is it the music that promotes these ideals? Also, everything he mentions in his essay seems to trivialize prescription to defined rules..yet by attempting to define "punk", isn't he creating a set of rules for so-called "punks" to prescribe to? Like I said, interesting read, and I don't even disagree with much of it, but what is the need to categorize yourself? Why can't you do all those things and listen to Mozart??
