The thing is, you're taking the term pop music negatively...I never intended that. Most music we're talking about is pop music..its all pop culture. But nowadays, people think of manufactured stuff like Britney when they think pop music...to me, U2 is pop music..but they are hardly manufactured. Its just music everyone can enjoy. Pop music can and should be good. The beatles were pop. They were also alternative.
BTW, I'm a big fan of Radiohead, and you're description is pretty accurate other than the word idiots...they seem like intelligent fellows.
