He took him to the vet and they found out that he has a broken pelvis, as well as a broken femur. The vet said the pelvis will heal on it's own but the femur needs surgery. I guess it's in pretty rough shape.

My question is this...has anyone had any experience with this? I'm looking for how much I'm looking at paying if we go ahead with this. Everywhere I've looked on the internet says it varies, depending on many different circumstances so I'm not expecting a firm answer, but hearing peoples experiences may help.
Call the vet and ask.

Sounds like a place for surgical specialties like Western Veterinary will have to handle it versus a normal vet.

Expect some thousands of dollars potentially.

Good luck.
