Kings Win a Game

Long Island, NY - The Los Angeles Kings were able to snap their longest losing streak of the year pulling out a gutsy 7-6 overtime win in Long Island against New York. It was the first victory in 7 games. The story of the game was a brilliant performance by sniper Marian Gaborik who recorded the hat trick.

"It is always nice when you are able to put everything together on the ice. I have my teammates to thank for being able to record the hat trick. I just wanted to put up as many points on the board as I could tonight. With the way we have been allowing goals we could not sit back." said Gaborik, reflecting on the game in the vistor's locker room.

"Well a victory is a victory and we will take any we can get at this point. The clubs play has gone beyond dismal the past few weeks, but hopefully we can build on this and play stronger hockey going forward. The goalies have to regain their focus for us to have any chance at the playoffs, this is not the kind of play that will get you far in any league." said GM Sra on the teams recent fortunes.

It was also noted that GM Sra has blocked access to the Grotto and other "festivities" in hopes the team will be able to regain some focus in their last stretch of games.
