If you are asking between LASIK Canada and Gimble, two companies, then there is a difference.
Gimble you are paying for name brand. Like BMW or Mercedes of laser eye surgery.
I got mine done by DeMong himself in 1999. LASIK Canada was just starting out then, and was $1000/eye and DeMong was $2000 I think.
The reason I paid the premium is the DeMong is an expert in his field. Arguably the best eye specialist not just in Calgary, but Canada as well.
So I said to myself, do I want to get my eyes done by a guy who has his reputation and practice riding on my eyes, or some guy with way less experience who has no real ties to the company?
Anyways, to me I paid the premium, and am totally happy. Yes, some people go the $500 route, and get the same results. However, I thought the support and process from DeMong was awesome, and totally worth the extra price. Especially if something went wrong.
I am sure tech has gotten way better since then, but something about the high volume low margin eye surgery market makes me weary.
