Ressurecting the movie thread with news that a sequel to
The Dark Crystal is in production.

"Set hundreds of years after the events of the first movie when the world has once again fallen into darkness, Power of the Dark Crystal follows the adventures of a mysterious girl made of fire who, together with a Gelfling outcast, steals a shard of the legendary Crystal in an attempt to reignite the dying sun that exists at the center of the planet."
The Dark Crystal was one of those movies that absolutely captivated my imagination as a kid when it came out. I've resisted going back to rewatch it as there is no way the movie would be able to live up to my memory of it, but a well made sequel would be really exciting. And by well made I mean not a George Lucas CGI-diarrhea fest.
Luckily it looks like that won't happen:
