So it goes though. I totally agree with you about Nickelback and bands like them, but I think it's more because the industry has become more of a machine, just wanting to churn out easy to rehash products that they can sell units with. Profit first, not art. A & R job description has changed. Used to be, go out, find the next cool sound. Now, its go out, find a neat and tidy sound, and then find (or manufacture) 100 bands just like it. It's like the big wigs of the industry have completely eliminated the market for genuinely talented creative bands. We just have to realize most people are not really big music fans...people like you and I might have several hundred or thousands of albums in our collection. A lot of people i know have less than 50. Look at it this way, we're lucky that we have the internet now. I can avoid the garbage and find more quality than ever before, if I put in a little effort. I haven't needed to listen to crappy mainstream radio for years now. I don't miss it. The Nickelback fans can have it.
