I don't know about this. Think of the mass chaos if this happened, especially with livestock.

I cannot imagine a farmer trying to explain to his cows that they now need to get up at 2 am. Cows are not that smart to begin with, and they have gotten used to time zones through successive generations of careful breeding. I picture the poor farmer out in the field, trying to explain to each individual cow that time zones no longer exist. Farmers would be doing that with all their time, and the economy would grind to a halt. Cows have a hard enough time with daylight savings time, and this would be a complete disaster. I for one am not willing to starve to death so that my TV programs come on at the same time as the east coast.
