As far as the players go, CHL players can actually earn money and have a really good scholarship program (so I've been lead to believe). College football may be the most profitable sports league in the US (easily the most popular), but they aren't allowed to pay their players, other than provide them with a free college education they likely don't care about.
I'd say overall, if you never go pro, you're much better off in the CHL than any US college sport.
