Baertchi, despite being shorter than RNH, weights more. He's 5'11 and 187, which is pretty much were he should be. I don't think size is that much of a concern with Baertchi. He'll probably be 190-195 by training camp which is plenty for a 5'11 forward. He's really not a thin kid.
Given the number of injuries the Heat have had, I don't think that playing for Abbotsford would reduce his chances of being injured in the slightest. Playing in the WHL yes, but not the AHL which is full of big, strong, hard hitting guys.
