Now it's possible because of his background he was overlooked by many, but lets not forget he's had his chances with 10 day contracts with NO (IIRC), and guys like him rarely consistently put up great numbers. What he's done so far is pretty remarkable, but count me among the guys who aren't buying his starting ability (yet).
I gotta ask, what the hell is it going to take to convince you?

I'm not sure what relevance his past tryouts have, the criticisms were his lack of a shooting touch (seems he's found that), his inability to go left (he doesn't do it that much, but he can) and other nitpicky critiques. Unlike a lot of guys Lin wen out and worked his ass off on the areas he was deficient, the fact that he was once not good at certain things has no bearing on what he's doing now.

Over his last 5 games he is averaging 27.2 pts (tied with Westbrook for the league lead) and 8.8 assists to 2.6 turnovers, and he did it while playing with Tyson Chandler and 3 guys who leave most people saying "who?". Oh, he also did it in games against Kobe and John Wall. The Knicks also went from a team on the way to the basement to a playoff team.

His stats will likely come down a bit (I imagine Carmelo will see to that) but if you're not buying it now you haven't been paying attention. The guy isn't the greatest player in the league and the hype is overblown for a variety of reasons, but he's legit.
