If you put a turd on a giant screen it doesn't change the fact that its a turd.
Episodes 1-3 were just terrible, terrible films. Lucas has lost his mind with all the changes and re-hashes to the originals, re-releasing each film in every new format with further changes, and people are buying into a marketing money machine with the Star Wars branding nowadays. They pay for the brand now, not quality. Any reputation Star Wars had about being good/fun/enjoyable movies is a relic of the past.
I know its hard to admit. I didn't want to admit Phantom Menace was so utterly horrible when I saw it, but I had no choice. The truth cannot be hidden.
