My kid does something wrong with a toy, it goes into 'toy timeout', she does the same thing again and the toy goes directly into the garbage. I think his shooting the laptop mirrors that pretty much, so I fully support that his did that.

As for the public humiliation, my first reaction is that it was totally uncalled for, but then I realized SHE posted it in the public forum in the first place. She was making (apparently) exaggerated or false accusations in a public forum and he responded in a public forum. Tit for tat.

As a foster parent myself, everything I know about situations like that lead me to believe that the chances she would end up in care are crazy low, and him going to jail would be even lower. I have no doubt it would be investigated, but a single black eye that followed as a response to this allegation without any supporting history or other evidence of a pattern of abuse would likely end in the accusations being filed away as false.

Most children in care make false accusations, since they often feel it is a way they can be returned to their parents. In the same respect, most parents who have children apprehended from them makes false accusations, because they see vilifying the foster parent as a way to get their kids back.

Social workers deal with this every day, and tricking them into doing something drastic would probably be about as hard as a homeless guy coming to your front door and trying to get your root password from you. Could it happen? Sure, but I would bet against every time.
