Anyone who is holding on their their childhood love of Star Wars, and living in angst over the perceived gutting of the franchise needs to get over it and move on with their life.

All of the Star Wars movies were designed for kids, and if you happened to enjoy the movies as an adult - good for you. So, quite happily, I am going to take my 6 year old to the movie in the next few weeks, and hope that he enjoys the light sabre fights, the space ships etc etc. He will probably even laugh at Jar Jar.

And then at some point, I will figure out how to explain to him, how that little boy who couldn't act, turned into a genocidal maniac that put fear into the hearts of the galaxy.
